Monday, 23rd March

Dear parents,

Please watch Ms. Suad, the school counselor's video message under the 'Counseling Team' tab on the blog. You may find it useful to help your child feel calm and safe. Please feel free to email me if you have trouble finding it.

There is a post from Ms. Rochelle under the 'Performing Arts' tab as well!

Thank you!

Please listen to the following morning greeting from Ms. Nazish:

Activity One:

Math (Data analysis)

Materials - crayons/coloring pencils/ spoons, paper, pencil

Duration- 15 minutes

Beginning - Put six crayons or coloring pencils or spoons in front of the child and ask him/her to count them

Middle - Once the child has counted all the six objects,
ask him/her to draw as many tally marks on the paper as the number of
crayons/coloring pencils/spoons in front of him/her (Please refer to the sample video below the activity).

End - Once the child has drawn the tally marks,
gradually increase the number of objects
and keep asking the child to draw as many tally marks as the number of objects he/she has counted.
You can go up to ten objects.

If the child is able to draw as many tally marks as the number of objects, encourage him/her to write the total number in the form of a numeral (For example, ‘10’ for ten tally marks).
