ACTIVITY 1: 


MATHEMATICS: Counting / Subtraction


DURATION: 15 minutes



Materials: Cereal ( cheerios, fruit loops etc.), bowl


Beginning: Put a spoon full of cereal into a bowl. Let the children know that they will be counting the cereal as they eat (one by one with their fingers)


Middle: The child counts the total number of cereal pieces in the bowl. He/she starts eating the cereal one by one.

End: You ask them how many pieces are left in the bowl each time they put one in the mouth. 


(This activity helps children count and learn to subtract)

ACTIVITY 2




Science: Experiment


Duration: 15 minutes


Materials: Paint ( any two colors ), paintbrush, paper, bowl 

Beginning: The children would be mixing two colors of paint. Ask them, “What they think would happen if they mix the two colors?”

Middle: Let them mix and say, “I can see the color is changing”. Acknowledge their ideas.

End: Give them paper and let them paint. 

(This activity helps children experiment, predict and analyze).
